OVERVIEW: In this 1959 black comedy about beatnik culture, legendary schlockmeister Roger Cormans lampoons of poetry readings and artistic pretention feel just as relevant 50 years later. Corman regular Dick Miller plays Walter Paisley, a busboy at the Yellow Door coffeehouse who aspires to be as hip as the denizens he cleans up after. When he accidentally kills his landladys cat and covers it in clay, he is hailed as a sculpting genius. Pressed to enlarge the scope of his work, he begins applying his unique technique to human sculptures.
