CINEMA OF THE DEAD INVADES TORONTO
On Saturday, October 24th, the dead will roam the streets of Toronto once more. The 2009 TORONTO ZOMBIE WALK will be a bloody three-hour lurch from Trinity Bellwoods Park to Bloor and Bathurst, culminating in a special double bill at the Bloor Cinema. Like the Santa Claus Parade, but with rotting flesh instead of snow, dismembered limbs instead of floats, and cries for "Brainssss." instead of marching bands. The undead can shuffle to the Bloor Cinema (506 Bloor St. W., at Bathurst) for CINEMA OF THE DEAD at 7:00, featuring two rarely-shown zombie cult classics: NIGHT OF THE COMET (1984) and ZOMBI 2 (1979). Tickets for the complete CINEMA OF THE DEAD double bill are $16 in advance and may be purchased from TOtix.ca. Double-bill tickets $20 at the door ($16 for zombies). The TORONTO ZOMBIE WALK itself is a free, non-ticketed event.
