OVERVIEW: On a lonely freeway late one night, a bickering mother, Senga (Madeleine Stowe), and her teenage daughter Nat (Mischa Barton) encounter a series of surreal sights: vacationers photographing the debris of car crash, a baby crawling in the middle of the highway, and a tow-truck operator (Norman Reedus) trawling for accidents. While taking a break at a rest stop, a mysterious backpacker (Bijou Phillips) entices Nat with the promise of freedom and new life with a strange cult. Senga gives chase into a deranged world where she must confront nightmares from her past to protect her daughter in this film from 2003.
