Hey Gang, what it is?
Last week at this time we saw Paul McCartney, and what appeared to be a "lake of 50,000 people" later became a river of "peeps" after the show, floweing thru downtown Atlanta. I told my son this is a rare day you can go down 10th Avenue and walk on the double yellow line in the middle of the road for four blocks. Oh, the show you ask? Well.. at 67, Paul McCartney put on a 2 1/2 hour BOMB of a show! He sang "Mrs. Vanderbilt" from Band on the Run and "I've Got a Feeling" from Let it Be, two unexpected, but great songs. At one point he did some Jimi Hendrix fingerwork that brought the crowd to screams. Ahem, and we're an older crowd, so it takes more for us to scream ;-). It was a great day with our friends and I was happy that Trey, at age 13, could see a Beatle. Hell.. at 47 "I'm" glad to see a Beatle!! If you get a chance, definitely go and see him. He always puts on a great show, and the memories are priceless :-)
We're getting a new roof as I type this, luckily my office is in another building on the property (with cable!) so I can avoid the ham-ham-hammering. Speaking of hamering.. I've hammered out a few deals this week but they are good ONLY UNTIL SEPT 1st, then they'll go back to the original price. They are listed below and you can order them on the site too.
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW COOL THIS LIMITED EDITION IS.... and one you should own....Peter Straub's IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW is a GORGEOUS edition from Centipede Press. We're offering it at a special $5 bucks off list price, and on these editions, we don't get much of a discount. This will be the last week we offer at this price, and it will go back up to the list price. With 12 illustrations by J.K. Potter (click the link as I've put a couple up) leather and Japanese cloth binding, a bound in bookmark, the extras from Straub himself, it's just a beautiful limited edition, and only 300 copies.
Y''all stay cool out there and keep shinin'!
