YOoooOOO!
Wow! What a weekend! LeeAnn's son graduated from Georgia Tech this weekend and already has a job! Go Kyle! I have to say Georgia Tech did a fine job with the two hour ceremony and it flowed smoothly. Then we had Mother's Day and celebrated in our new Hinchberger Pavillion on the property. Okay, well, the blue prints named it the Hinchberger Pavillion so that's what we're calling it at the moment :-). It's a big structure that we'll enjoy with our peeps, and one day we'll have an Overlook gathering out here and this will be a big help in holding court here at the store.

SEX, MONEY, KISS - SIGNED FIRST EDITION!
== Signed in Silver on Black Endpaper by Gene Simmons of KISS!
== Rare Red-Foil cover edition. In acid-free book cover.
By Gene Simmons.
REVIEW: Exhibiting an "abiding faith in self" and an ability to think outside the traditional parameters of ethics, religion, rituals and social mores, rock legend and Kiss founding member Simmons (KISS and Make-Up) offers his no-holds-barred life philosophy. Presenting the book as "access to the American dream" of money and happiness and warning that what he says is only "food for thought" and that he'll be painting with wide strokes, Simmons recounts his rise from an immigrant boy who didn't speak English until his teens and paid for college buying and selling old comic books, to his current music, recording, acting and publishing successes. Narrated in a distinctive, deep voice and peppered with expletives and frequent interjections of the word "baby" for emphasis, Simmons touches on a range of topics, including investment advice, his brief stint as a teacher and behind-the-scenes Kiss business negotiations, which fans are especially sure to appreciate in audio format. Simmons's humor, perfectly suited in translation from prose, begins with his "salute" to modern women, who he contends are ultimately slaves to biology, and a funny explanation of why men can't be monogamous (because "women are from Mars; men have penis."). -- Publshers Weekly.

A PLEASURE TO BURN. by Ray Bradbury.
First Hardcover Edition.
REVIEWS:
“Long After Midnight” and “The Fireman” feature the novel’s protagonist, Montag; the latter is the novella that Bradbury expanded into the novel. All 16 pieces in the collection explore the hazards befalling mankind when society contrives to restrain the imagination. An indispensable companion to Bradbury’s most celebrated novel. -- Booklist.
Starred Review. Editors Donn Albright and Jon Eller assemble 16 stories that span six decades of Bradbury's extraordinary career in an insightful thematic expansion of his famous 1953 novel of state-sanctioned book burning. The longer, slower stories Long After Midnight and The Fireman are revealing precursors to Fahrenheit 451 itself, but the real gems are the shorter stand-alones, such as The Reincarnate, in which a recently dead man experiences a harsh rebirth and desperately seeks out his own widow; in The Mad Wizards of Mars, the red planet is inhabited by all the authors and characters from literature destroyed on Earth; and three intense interconnected pieces: The Dragon Who Ate His Tail, Sometime Before Dawn, and To the Future. An essential addition to the bookshelf of every Bradbury fan, the collection is also accessible to curious readers with a taste for the dark, the strange, and the macabre. - Publshers Weekly.

ONE FOR THE ROAD. by Stephen King.
First Hard Cover Edition!
Limited Hardcover Release!
NOW IN STOCK!
OVERVIEW: This much-loved tale is narrated by Booth, an elderly resident of a small Maine town that neighbors the infamous Jerusalem's Lot, and it takes place a couple of years after the events in King's novel. Booth describes a winter's night years ago, when he and his friend, a bar owner named Herb Tooklander (Tookey), receive a visit from a distressed motorist named Gerard Lumley, whose vehicle had become stranded in a ferocious blizzard . . . with his wife and daughter still inside. At first critical of Lumley for driving in such weather, both men are horrified when they realise that Lumley's car is stranded in Jerusalem's Lot, widely regarded to have 'gone bad'. Nevertheless, they still decide to drive out in a snow plough and attempt to save Lumley's family. Instead, they barely manage to save themselves.
