NIGHTWORLD: 2012 REVISED EDITION - The Adversary Cycle.
The Author's Definitive Edition.
by F. Paul Wilson.
REVIEW:
Fans of Wilson’s Adversary Cycle who are thinking, Wait a minute; I read this one already, should think again. The novel, originally published 20 years ago as the sixth and final volume of the series, has been reissued in a revised form. The author has beefed up the role of Repairman Jack and made other changes to more fully incorporate the novel into the multibook Secret History of the World. Readers who aren’t familiar with the author’s previous books will be utterly lost in this one (which begins with the world’s daylight hours shrinking and ends with a battle for the future of earth itself). On the other hand, fans of the Repairman Jack novels will enjoy their hero’s expanded role here; in the original version of the book, written before the Repairman Jack series, he was a minor player, but here the author has tweaked the text to incorporate events and characters from books written after the original came out. For Repairman Jack followers, this is a must-read. --David Pit, BOOKLIST.
