OVERVIEW: This is from the Reader's Digest World's Best Reading series. Illustrations by Joseph Ciardiello; afterword by Scott Russell Sanders. This copy includes a removable four page insert that describes the author's life from his childhood, to his passing at the age of 44 at his home in Somoa in the South Pacific. He was in the middle of writing the now unfinished novel "Weir of Hermiston" at the time. I had no idea he died so young. The insert includes rare drawings of the author, and partial reprint of the actual hand-written story The Enchantress, and the story behind the story. This copy has minor water mark top pages other wise a very nice copy. (1A)
